Oregon Outdoors

It's a one-hour drive to the Oregon coast, where rocky headlands, tidepools, pristine beaches, and awe-inspring ocean views create some of western America's most stunning scenery. Thanks to a farsighted citizenry, most of Oregons beachfront will always be publicly accessible; a thriving network of attractions, restaurants, hotels and festivals makes the coast a perfect get-away for a day, a weekend, or longer. Just an hour east of the Eugene/Springfield area lies the Cascade mountain range, where deep powder invites down-hill and cross-country skiers, and mountains and high desert offer hiking, backpacking, rock-climbing, fishing, and just plain relaxing. Mountain biking, windsurfing, and river running are popular also.
