Major Program Application

To register in upper division business courses you must first apply and be admitted into the major. Applications are due by the second Friday of the term one term prior to registering for upper division courses. (You can be enrolled in your final pre-business requirements at the time you submit your application.)

Once your request has been submitted we will review your student record to ensure that you meet all the admission requirements for the undergraduate major in business. You will be notified via mail of our decision. If you are currently enrolled in Pre-Business Core courses, or if your cumulative G.P.A. is currently below a 2.75, we will process your application after grades are posted at the end of the term.

Application Process

Your application will not be considered complete until ALL of the following items have been submitted

  1. A completed on-line application form.
  2. A copy of your resumé (attached to application below)
  3. Answers to the following supplemental questions: (attached to application below)

    Supplemental Questions

Supplemental questions must (1) be sent together in a single word document, (2) include a header with your first & last name in the upper right hand corner of each page, and (3) have no more than 1000 words for the first two questions combined.

    1) What are your academic and career plans and what are you doing to achieve them? Please include past experiences that suggest academic/professional potential and/or commitment. You may include course selection as well as experience gained through work, volunteer opportunities, community involvement, and life experiences.

    2) How will you, personally, add value to the Lundquist College of Business? Please include all relevant information including unique personal traits or skills, life history, leadership experiences, etc. and be specific. Please speak to your most significant past accomplishments. Cite specific examples and how these experiences and accomplishments have impacted you.

*3) If you believe you may not meet the automatic admission requirements, please explain any extenuating circumstances. If you reference an illness, death in the family or other extenuating circumstances, please include supporting documentation such as a doctor’s note. (This information will serve as your petition should you fail to achieve automatic requirements by the end of the term.)

*3rd Question: Optional-will serve as your petition if there's any chance you might not meet all requirements (must be turned in with other application materials).

This application form must be completed by the second Friday of the term, one term prior to taking upper division business courses.
