2005 USASBE Conference -- Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program

The Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship is pleased to have been a member of the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship for over 10 years. The LCE has been recognized numerous times as a leader in entrepreneurship education and practice.

In 2005, the Entrepreneurship Education Division of USASBE recognized excellence in entrepreneurship education with awards made at the 2005 national meeting in each of the following seven categories:

  • National Model Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program

  • Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program
  • Innovative Entrepreneurship Education Courses
  • Innovative Pedagogy for Entrepreneurship Education
  • Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year (see special instructions below)

The LCE's Technology & Entrepreneurship Program placed second in the Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program category. Selection was based on the following criteria:

  • Innovativeness and uniqueness of the nominated program, course, or pedagogy
  • Quality and effectiveness of the nominated program, course, or pedagogy
  • Completeness and comprehensiveness of the nominated program, course, or pedagogy
  • Sustainability (long term) of the nominated program, course, or pedagogy
  • Transferability of the nominated program, course, or pedagogy to other USASBE members (tie breaker only)

Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies

The Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies was originally a separate, private, operating foundation established by Mr. Harold Price in 1979 that was funded through grants from the Louis and Harold Price Foundation.

The Price Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies was created to contribute to the education and encouragement of entrepreneurs. The Institute focuses particular interest on entrepreneur programs at institutes of higher education, but has been also focusing lately on helping entrepreneurs in the general business community learn more about what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The Price Institute is a co-sponsor of the Roundtable on Entrepreneurial Education held at Stanford University.

The REE USA 2005 conference gathers business, science, and engineering faculty from leading universities in the United States with the goal of accelerating entrepreneurship education for scientists and engineers.

REE offers an opportunity for entrepreneurship programs to share success stories and learn new ways to enhance their offerings. The meeting includes a formal program and interactive workshops, as well as many opportunities for informal discussions with colleagues.

The LCE's Technology & Entrepreneurship Program was nominated for the prestigious Price Institute Innovative Entrepreneurship Educators Award. This award recognizes innovative entrepreneurship education programs for scientists and engineers.

USASBE
