External Business Plan Competitions

The LCE provides opportunities for both M.B.A. and undergraduate students to participate in business plan competitions throughout the US and Internationally based on the competitive strength of a new venture concept and management team. The business plan competition circuit has grown to a level such that successful teams can win upwards of $25,000 in cash awards.

The LCE provides active support with a traveling faculty adviser, and coverage of entry fees and travel expenses while winnings are retained by the successful competing team.

At the MBA-level, teams that are selected for participation in external business plan competitions generally result from completion of the New Venture Planning / New Venture Launch Pathway program in the second year.

Undergraduate teams can result from completion of MGMT 335 and 455 in the senior year or from independent study programs for both Juniors and Seniors within the Lundquist College of Business in the fall and winter terms.

It is the mission of the LCE to promote innovation and entrepreneurship outside of the Lundquist College of Business to all enterprising students within the University of Oregon. The LCE attempts to provide such students with management team partners within the entrepreneurial concentration for an academically diverse experiential learning opportunity.
