Graduate Student Advisory Board for the 2007-08 Year

Mission Statement:

The MBA Program Student Advisory Board (SAB) represents the interests of all graduate students in maximizing the value provided by the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship through programs, activities and curriculum. Current SAB members include:

Graham CrawfordM.B.A. 2009

Born in Portland, Oregon, Graham spent his childhood in the suburbs of the city. An alumni of the University of Oregon with an undergraduate degree in Economics and a minor in Computer Information Technology, he has lived in Eugene for the last nine years. Graham returned to the UO after working as a research analyst with ECONorthwest, a Eugene-based economic consulting firm. The majority of his work involved data analysis and research that was used to analyze problems the firm’s clients were looking to solve.

After four years with ECONorthwest, Graham realized his desire to learn how to create business opportunities and manage groups working to capitalize on those opportunities. He brings to the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship a broad perspective with which to consider potential business opportunities as a result of his exposure to a large number of industries and markets through his research.

Graham’s interests include backpacking, climbing, rafting, basketball, Frisbee-golf, guitar, motorcycles, and traveling.

Philip Ferranto,  M.B.A. 2009

Phil was born in Toms River, New Jersey, and grew up in Suttons Bay, Michigan, and Spring Hill, Florida. Upon graduation of high school, Phil enrolled in the United States Coast Guard Academy where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management.

In 2002, Phil became a commissioned officer and traveled the world, specializing in the enforcement of U.S. Customs, counter-narcotic, and alien migration laws and policies. He enjoyed living in San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area.

While studying at UO, Phil wants to gain as much experience in business development and innovation while embracing the Eugene culture.

Future aspirations include working in product development within small, entrepreneurial start-ups and launching businesses in the technology and services sector.

John Parsons,  M.B.A. 2009

John spent his formative years growing up on Bainbridge Is, (a suburb of Seattle, WA) before moving to Bellingham, WA to pursue his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Washington University. His interests include sustainability, entrepreneurship, and responsibility, (corporate, social, and environmental).

Prior to graduate school, he spent four years working as a benefits consultant to small and medium-sized firms throughout the Pacific Northwest and was largely responsible for the successful startup of a courier service in the Seattle metropolitan market. He had the opportunity to assist a countless number of organizations and entrepreneurs throughout his career and plans to pursue a variety of entrepreneurial ventures within the renewable energy market upon completion of his MBA.
