This course examines the opportunities and challenges inherent
in managing in an increasingly competitive global environment. Topics include
globalization trends, regional economic integration (e.g., NAFTA, European Union),
political and economic risk assesment, cultural influences on management, organizing
for international business, developing competitive global strategies, and international
staffing. Particular attention is focused on learning how competitors and partners
in other countries of the world (e.g., Japan, Germany, Mexico) organize to compete.
