Direction: you will need
to know what type of work you want to pursue in order to go after it. If
you are unclear about your direction, see Choosing
a Career.
Job Search Tools: youll
need an impactful resume and cover
letter. It is also helpful to sharpen your interviewing
skills early so you are prepared when a company is interested in meeting
with you.
A Plan: youll need
to identify your job search plan. When conducting your search, it is important
to use a variety of strategies. While job postings can be an easier, less
time consuming way to find opportunities, you should not rely solely on
this one strategy. Consider proactive strategies such as your personal network,
targeted mailings and informational interviewing. For job search basics
and suggestions, see Step 3: Effective Job
Search Strategies.
