discuss with an advisor? Here are a few common topics you can learn about during
your appointment:
Getting Started
Whether it is your first or last year in the LCB, visit with an advisor to
learn about the variety of career resources available to you.
Career Exploration
Are you unsure about your career path? Well show you resources to help
you explore the world of work and discuss strategies to assess what careers
are the right fit for you.
The Internship and Job Search
The most efficient way to land that internship or job is to use multiple search
strategies. Not sure what those strategies are? Visit with an advisor to learn
more. Discuss how to research and identify organizations of interest, how
to implement job search strategies, and how to create your individual search
plan.
Internship and Job Search Tools
Appointments are available for students development and critique of resumes
and cover letters. You can also take advantage of our drop-in hours for assistance
with these two job search tools.
While the resume and cover letter get you the interview, the interview gets
you the job. We are available to discuss interview strategies and help you
brainstorm ways to answer tough questions. Don't stop your preparation short
by simply getting advice. Practice is critical to perform your best in the
interview! Set up a practice interview with an advisor. Videotaping is a popular
option that allows both you and the advisor to critique your performance.
Graduate School
Discuss graduate school options, including admission and applications.
