Warsaw Sports Marketing Center Events

The Warsaw Center hosts numerous events throughout the year. The following are our signature events, the majority of which are run and organized by students.

Jog 4 Jim

Jog 4 Jim The Jog 4 Jim is a platform for interaction and fundraising for Parkinson’s disease research to support the legacy of Jim Warsaw. Jog 4 Jim has partnered with the Michael J. Fox Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure and improving therapies for those affected. Jog 4 Jim typically coincides with the 5K run during Eugene Marathon weekend. Since 2006, Jog 4 Jim has raised more than $100,000 for Parkinson's disease research.

KIDSPORTS Invitational

KIDSPORTS Invitational Since 1998, students have organized an annual thee-on-three basketball tournament on the floor of Historic Mac Court. Originally, the event raised funds for Parkinson's Disease research in honor of Jim Warsaw. It now supports the Stephen Dember Memorial Scholarship. Dember was an active member of the UO student "Pit Crew" at basketball games and the Warsaw Sports Business Club before passing away in an accident in 2005. Students manage the entire tourney including marketing, team recruitment, event operations, and sponsorship. The tournament is now a partnership with a local non-profit, KIDSPORTS.

Research Conference: Focus on Sponsorship

Focus on Sponsorship Sponsorship of sports, arts and entertainment is an established marketing platform that has been the focus of hundreds of research papers to date. Still many areas such as measurement and integration are under-researched. This two-day research conference in sport marketing is therefore focused on the topic of sponsorship. Warsaw-Thurston Award Gala

Warsaw-Thurston Award Gala The Warsaw-Thurston Award award recognizes an individual--male or female--who has achieved the highest level of professional success in advancing and creating opportunities for women in the business of sport. Through the award, we honor the current leaders in the sports business industry, and raise funds to support the leaders of the future.

Women in Sports Business Symposium

Women in Sports Business Symposium The Women in Sports Business Symposium has become a cornerstone in the achievement of the Warsaw Center's vision to encourage more women to join the sports industry. The annual symposium, completely run and organized by students, gives Oregon MBAs the chance to celebrate and honor business leaders of today. Thanks to community support and participation of some of the most influential women in sports, the Women in Sports Business Symposium has grown in scope and national relevance.
