Get Involved
There are many ways industry and alumni can support the Finance and Securities Analysis Center, its faculty, students, and programs. Whether it be with your time, advice, or financial underwriting, you will know that you are on the forefront of this growing and vital effort.
Below are the most common ways individuals and corporations work with us, but if you want additional information or have another idea, please contact Jeff deBoer, jdeboer@uoregon.edu.
- Post a Job: Access the Lundquist College of Business's Career Services or the University of Oregon‘s Career Center.
- Sponsor a Project: Give students a chance to learn about your company and apply their talents to your business issue. Projects can take place in focused classes over a ten week term, via independent studies, or through longer term efforts called Strategic Planning Projects. These applied projects are the heart of our experiential learning here at the Lundquist College of Business. They allow students to add value for the sponsoring firms while honing their finance and business skills in real time.
- Visit as a Guest Speaker: Share your insights. The Finance and Securities Analysis Center Guest Speaker Series is an opportunity for students and faculty to hear practitioners from the world of finance and business discuss their firms and strategy in light of current events. The series brings a range of industry leaders from around the country in as guest lecturers, featuring a question-and-answer format and open to the larger campus community.
- Be an Executive in Residence: Each year the center's Executive-in-Residence program brings leaders in to work with students and faculty around their core expertise. Residencies can last one or several days and can emphasize either the student teaching aspects or a collaboration with faculty on relevant research. The program is a resource for our partners in industry, and the collaborative aspect with our faculty is often the catalyst for many of our executives.
- Mentor a Student: Get involved with the center's Career Insights Network and build one-on-one connections between Finance and Securities Analysis Center students and your firm. Our mentoring program is specifically designed to provide insights towards career preparation and development--not a job search. It's a way to share wisdom from the inside and on informal terms.
- Do Admissions Outreach: Alumni of the Lundquist College of Business know what makes the college and the center special. Help us bring this insight to prospective students by volunteering to talk to admitted students and answer their questions. Please contact Jeff deBoer, jdeboer@uoregon.edu to see how you can help. Your enthusiasm and engagement can help the center grow and produce the next generation of business leaders.
- Donate: Financial support is a critical factor to the long term success of the Finance and Securities Analysis Center, and gifts of all sizes are welcomed. Our goal is to build an intellectually vibrant and professionally influential signature center that is recognized as a leader in the state of Oregon as well as nationally and internationally recognized by practitioners and academics. For information about giving to the Finance and Securities Analysis Center, contact UO Lundquist College of Business External Relations, 541-346-3370. Or give online at the UO Foundation.
