FSAC Speaker Series | Mark Myers of Wells Fargo Bank on Commercial Real Estate Lending: Mark is a 27-year veteran banker at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco, currently on the Management Committee and executive VP of the Special Situations Group. He currently manages risks and losses on commercial real estate restructurings, dispositions and workout strategies and has managed structured commercial mortgages, mezzanine loans, preferred equity financings and private real estate equity fund investments in the past. He received his MBA from the UO.

FSAC Speaker Series | Stephen M. Horan, CFA on Private Wealth Management: Steve is head of university relations and private wealth management at the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is one of the authors on "The New Wealth Management: The Financial Advisors Guide to Managing and Investing Client Assets" being used as the textbook for FIN608 this fall term. He holds a PhD in finance and publishes frequently in academic and professional journals.

Lance Oman, Portfolio Manager for iShares (San Francisco): The ETF industry currently has assets of $1 trillion and is estimated to grow to $5 trillion by 2016. Lance will review the structure of ETFs and trends driving the growth with investors. Lance Oman is Director within the iShares Bank Wealth Management Group in San Francisco. He heads the business development team for private banks in the western region. Previously he worked at Charles Schwab for 14 years.

Ralph Cole, CFA (Ferguson Wellman) and Doug Johanson, CFA (Vista Capital): Two well-known Portland firms with two different views of managing assets: active vs. passive Both Finance Graduates from UofO. Douglas is a principal at Vista Capital Partners, a wealth management firm in Portland. Vista employs a passive investment strategy, utilizing index funds to build globally diversified, low cost, tax efficient portfolios for their clients. Ralph Cole is the SVP of Research for Ferguson Wellman Capital Management, another wealth management firm in Portland. They have more than $2.9 billion in assets under active management.
