Student Clubs and Organizations
The Oregon MBA Association
The Oregon MBA Association (OMBAA) serves as a link between the student body and program administration. It sponsors a variety of extracurricular activities, such as tailgaters, international nights, an annual ski trip, and professional events, to enrich the overall experience of students in the Lundquist College of Business Oregon MBA program.
The OMBAA also organizes community service events for individuals and groups of MBA students, e.g.
- Oregon Coast beach clean-up
- Food for Lane County fundraisers
- Habitat for Humanity site clearing
- Mt. Pisgah trail improvements
- Local schools reading and tutoring
University of Oregon Investment Group
The University of Oregon (UOIG) comprises undergraduate and graduate students looking to enhance their education and career opportunities through practical investment experience. Students participate in the operation of an investment management organization. The UOIG is managing investments in excess of $900,000 with returns that routinely beat the S&P 500.
Each member holds the position of "analyst" and focuses his or her research on companies in one of five sectors. Analysts formally present in-depth research reports to the group for critical review of the analyst's action recommendation, upon which a majority vote must be reached. Following this group decision, portfolio managers are responsible for trading equities in their respective portfolios.
Net Impact
Net Impact is a network of more than 10,000 new-generation leaders committed to using the power of business to improve the world. It is also one of the most innovative and influential networks of MBAs, graduate students and young professionals in existence today. Our members believe that business can both earn a profit and create positive social change. Through a central office in San Francisco and more than 115 chapters in cities and graduate schools around the globe, Net Impact offers a portfolio of programs that enable members to transform this ideal into measurable results. A group of Oregon MBA students interested in sustainability recently revived the local chapter. UO Net Impact works closely with members of the undergraduate Sustainable Business Group.
