Master of Accounting Curriculum and Application

Applying to the Master of Accounting Program

Students application packages are evaluated according to the whole package, including essays, recommendation letters, and experience--not merely on scores and grades. That said, pre-requiste guidelines include:

  • A GMAT score of 550 or better is preferred and previous MAcc classes have averaged GMAT scores of 600.
  • GMAT scores must be less than 5 years old.
  • A minimum accounting GPA of 3.0 and a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 are also preferred for the program, while previous MAcc classes have averaged overall undergraduate GPAs of 3.45.
  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, or the equivalent. For those applicants who hold a Bachelor Degree other than in business or accounting, please contact Robin Clement, the Director of the MAcc program at rclement@uoregon.edu, to discuss your entry into the program.
In addition to the general requirements for enrollment in the MAcc program, students with a business degree other than in accounting need to complete the following classes, maintaining a 3.0 GPA:

ACTG 350Financial Accounting Theory I
ACTG 351Financial Accounting Theory II
ACTG 352Financial Accounting Theory II
ACTG 360Cost Accounting

You will receive an email confirmation once your application is complete. Admission decisions are generally available 30-45 days AFTER an application has been completed and processed.
