Lundquist Center Industry & Alumni

The Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship is a portal for entrepreneurial energy fueling the state and regional economy. The center fosters this entrepreneurial energy through a broad community of alumni and friends. This community supports the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship, its faculty, students, and programs in many ways. Whether it be through the center's Entrepreneur on Campus program, speaking engagements, recruiting, site visits, or judging at the New Venture Championship and Venture Quest business plan competitions, industry and alumni have ample opportunities to engage students and advance the entrepreneurial spirit of the Northwest.

Below are the most common ways individuals and corporations work with us, but if you want additional information or have another idea, please contact Randy Swangard, interim managing director, swangard@uoregon.edu, 541-346-3312.

  • Post a Job or Internship: UO JobLink is a searchable database of jobs and internships. UO JobLink reaches students of all majors, including business students. Companies can self-post jobs on UO JobLink. To get started, visit the following link and follow the instructions: http://uocareer.uoregon.edu/employer.

  • Recruit our Students: Several venues exist for recruiting firms to engage our students, including hosting an information/recruiting session, taking part in an industry panel discussion series, or hosting a group of students on site. To learn more visit Lundquist College of Business's Career Services.

  • Visit as a Guest Speaker: Share your insights. Industry professionals, practicing entrepreneurs, and investors inspire our students and faculty with frank insights about the challenges and rewards of starting their own ventures. The center brings a range of industry leaders from around the country in as guest lecturers and speakers as special events.

  • Be an Entrepreneur on Campus: Each year the center's Entrepreneur on Campus program brings leaders in to work with students and faculty around their core expertise. Residencies can last one or several days and can emphasize either the student teaching aspects or a collaboration with faculty. The program is a resource for our partners in industry, and the collaborative aspect is often a catalyst for executives.

  • Serve as a Judge: For both the center's world-renowned New Venture Championship and its internal Venture Quest business plan competitions, judges are drawn from a diverse population of entrepreneurs, service providers, angel and venture capitalist investors, and seasoned business executives. Judges feedback and guidance during these competitions is one of the biggest reasons these events are so impactful on students. Interested in becoming a judges, contact the center at uolce@lcbmail.uoregon.edu, 541-346-3420.

  • Donate: Financial support is a critical factor to the long term success of the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship, and gifts of all sizes are welcomed. You can choose to support new initiatives, faculty research, or even give to our New Venture Championship. For information about investing in the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship, contact External Relations, 541-346-3370. Or give online at the UO Foundation.
